Testbook.com is the brainchild of a team of IITian’s. One of the founders is Mr.Ashutosh Kumar, A B.Tech and M.Tech from the prestigious IIT Bombay, 2012 batch. The young Ashutosh demonstrated entrepreneurial skills in the third year of Engineering with recharge 123, an aggregator platform for mobile recharge. It was soon followed by Touch care, a cosmetic e-commerce platform.
The GetVidya Trust got off to a flying start in 2008, marking the Young Turk’s entry in the field of education. Excelmentors.com was the next offering in 2012. It was a platform provided mentorship to JEE aspirants by IIT students who were trained mentors. Furthermore, Mr. Kumar even had an experience of teaching K12 kids for a period of more than 7 Years.
The natural progression was into the larger pool of opportunity with Testbook.com. The humongously prolific Edtech start-up has the vision to build a full stack personalized learning & assessment platform and influence career stability of 100M+ unemployed youth. The social entrepreneur morphed seamlessly into the serial entrepreneur with Testbook.com.
The 200+ strong Testbook.com team headquartered in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai has successfully raised four rounds of investments. The Angel-funding was secured from Letsventure. S.Chand joined the team as a strategic investor. The Angels were instrumental in investing as a bridging investor while Matrix partners gave series A funding wings.
The four co-founders were quick to spot the demand and supply gap in the test prep market in India. The Government recruitment exams have over six crore aspirants appearing online annually, and the numbers are growing exponentially. This market is mostly unorganized and un-explored. It lacked tech-driven learning solutions, which can provide students an accessible and affordable quality learning solution at a mass scale.
