Mr. Alok Shivapuri
Principal, Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa

Mr. Alok Shivapuri is a senior academician and hotelier with more than 30 years of experience managing academics, administration, finance, operations and personnel at the institute and hotel.

After graduating from IHM Pusa, he joined as Management Trainee in Hotel Corporation of India Group of Hotels. He became one of the youngest principal to join Food Craft Institute, Chandigarh, at the age of 35. He later joined the Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa, New Delhi, in 2003 as Principal.

Mr. Shivapuri has a long list of achievements. He started ATC, a full-fledged hotel, a pastry shop and a commercial restaurant in Food Craft Institute, Chandigarh. At IHM Pusa, he is responsible for starting two Masters programmes, an annual Magazine-cum-journal – “Sparkle N Spice”– and “Hunar Se Rozgar”, a training programme in all the hotels of Delhi, IRCTC, etc. The institute has conducted national level researches across various Wildlife Sanctuaries, National Parks of India, all guest houses of Delhi and a range of Indian cuisines under his guidance.

Under his leadership, IHM Pusa has achieved new milestones year after year. The institute has been bestowed with “The Best Institute of Hotel Management” in the country for the past five consequent years by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
